Mobility 2.0 for the Italian capital

12 March 2021

At the start of the year, the city of Rome is renewing its trust in Citelum to manage its traffic lights and all new connected urban services

Roma Servizi per la Mobilità, the company that manages Rome’s urban mobility projects, has just entrusted Citelum for the next 5 years with the management and maintenance of traffic light systems (SLT) and several connected services.

Via this new contract, Citelum is expanding its scope of action and will now be in charge of 692 SLT, 40 lighted pedestrian crossings, 83 variable message signs, 73 traffic control and data collection systems (including 41 traditional measurement with magnetic induction sensors and 32 laser measurement stations), 49 roadside units connected via Bluetooth to estimate travel times.

The city will also benefit from the establishment of a report management system developed through the integration and the synchronization of MUSE® with the system already used by Roma Servizi per la Mobilità for urban traffic management.
